Finished with Medical School!!!

Woohoo, finished my last week of my last rotation (Anesthsia)! No more medical school, no more short white coat and no more tests (at least until the second of internship)!

Feels so good, I'm thinking of inviting some classmates over for a short white coat burning party next weekend. In the meantime we're going to have Tucker and his family over for a pool party/celebration.

Everything else seems to be going ok. The house purchase in West Hartford will be finalized once the Appraisal is done. My leg is healing up well. I'll have a nice scar from the I&D, but the triple antibiotic treatment did it's job. We went on a family bike ride today and it felt great. First real exercise in three weeks, since the whole thing (venous insufficiency + MRSA?) started with my leg. I'm getting used to wearing compression stockings most of the time.

Even the last week of Anesthesia went well. Lots of time off, but some interesting surgeries and a couple more intubations. Would have been the perfect to end medical school except that Friday's pneumonectomy kept me at Banner Baywood, an hour away from Glendale, until 8pm.

Graduation is still a few weeks away, but there's plenty to do around the house. Becky is still looking for work in Hartford, so I might be able to help a bit with that. There's packing for the move. And I definitely need to get into an exercise routine and skip a few deserts/meals.

My primary goal though is reduce stress and get mentally prepared for the start of residency. Dr. Grady has been a long time coming.
